Ciarán is an independent product designer and member of Sonder Collective. He specialises in creating new digital products with organisations in the humanitarian and global health sectors. In 2019, he led a project called Relief Watch in collaboration with the Humanitarian Policy Group and Humanity United, which focussed on reimagining accountability for people affected by crises in Iraq. He has worked on digital products for UNHCR, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Siemens Healthineers, Lego, Porsche, and Rambus.
Ciarán is experienced in planning and conducting qualitative research with vulnerable populations in low and middle income countries. At Loop, he enjoys researching, building, and testing prototypes of our platform, as well as experimenting with SMS and conversational interfaces to extend the reach of Loop. He is passionate about accessibility in design – ensuring people of all abilities can equally perceive and understand the digital things we create. In 2016, he co-founded Refugee Text, an award-winning chatbot for refugees that delivered free and personalised asylum regulation information to refugees travelling to Europe.
