Mariam is a Protection, Safeguarding, and Accountability professional with 7+ years of humanitarian experience in Somalia. She has strong technical expertise in GBV prevention and response, including managing confidential feedback mechanisms, supporting sensitive disclosures, and strengthening referral pathways. Marian has held key roles with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics, and the Somali Women Development Centre (SWDC), leading programme implementation, research, partner coordination, and capacity building. She holds a BSc in Public Health from Ahfad University for Women (Sudan) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Community Health and Epidemiology at Kenyatta University (Kenya). Marian is fluent in Somali, English, and Arabic, and is passionate about inclusive, safe, and accountable programming.
