Deepthy Menon

Deepthy trained to be a storyteller, as a journalist and later as a communications for development professional. She currently leads Strategy and Narratives building at Urgent Action Fund, Asia and Pacific, a feminist rapid response fund that supports human rights defenders, activists and communities across Asia and the Pacific. She uses her diverse experiences to sharpen her intersectional analysis and advocate for communities led-wisdom to come to the aid of solving the gaps in the majoritarian world. She is a big fan of reframing perspectives and interrogating accountability. She was responsibile for facilitating the development of an alternative feminist learning framework that centred accountability and learning along with monitoring and evaluation of the fund’s work. Over the years, she has dabbled across multiple storytelling platforms, from television journalism in India to being the managing editor for an international impact evaluation funder, to leading communications for a massive alternate energy product. As a Shift the Power fellow, she has been working on how to champion measuring what matters.
