In January 2026, 2,038 pieces of open feedback were received. Most submissions were in Maxatiri (81%), and 73% were from women. Vulnerability factors were recorded in 71% of feedback, with 61% identifying as IDPs.
Communities reported a collapse of livelihoods due to severe drought, failed rainy seasons, livestock loss, and conflict. This has driven displacement to urban areas and increased pressure on services. Primary requests focused on livelihoods/general assistance (81%), WASH (35%), food security (30%), environment/drought (22%), and shelter (20%). Only 3% of open feedback received organisational replies.
A total of 129 sensitive reports were submitted, primarily related to protection (29%), fraud/corruption (13%), and service-level concerns (58%). Lower Shabelle accounted for 53% of sensitive reports.
In January, 139 sensitive cases were closed: 59% were successfully resolved, while 41% were closed due to survivors being unreachable, declining referral, or lack of services. Twenty-four referrals were made with a 75% overall acknowledgement rate (69% for assistance-related referrals; 88% for allegation-related referrals).
Overall organisational response rate to referrals was 75%, with no response from government entities.
