Between October and December 2025, Loop received 489 pieces of community feedback from 23 provinces across the DRC, including 46 sensitive reports raising serious protection and human rights concerns. Most feedback came from conflict-affected eastern provinces, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri, where insecurity, displacement, and service disruption continue to shape everyday life.
Over half of all submissions (52%) were concerns or complaints, commonly linked to insecurity, unpaid public-sector salaries, and disrupted health and education services. One in five messages were direct requests for assistance, with displaced families frequently reporting limited or no support and heavy reliance on overstretched host communities. Sensitive reports highlighted threats, violence, discrimination, and restrictions on movement, including from minority communities facing heightened protection risks.
Alongside these challenges, communities also expressed appreciation for interventions like vaccination campaigns, maternal healthcare, and the official end of the Ebola outbreak, showing that when support is accessible and sustained, it is clearly recognised and valued.
At present, Loop’s work in the DRC is limited to web and WhatsApp channels in French, due to the absence of dedicated funding. This means that voice-based reporting and local languages, which are essential for reaching the most marginalised groups, are not yet available, despite strong demand from national actors.

For a sense of what Loop can enable when voice-based accessibility is funded, you can look at our 📥Q4 Somalia and Somaliland Deep Dive, where communities are engaging through multilingual, voice-based channels at scale.
As always we remain available to discuss how this might align with your priorities around accountability, protection, and community-centred programming.
