Mawa Kaba holds a Post graduate Diploma in Social Sciences with her thesis being on inclusive education in Zambia. She has a Diploma in Social Work and certificates in Safeguarding, Counselling, Child Rights, Disabilities inclusion etc. Her work experience spans 15 years’ and includes roles primarily in the areas of inclusion gender based violence and economic empowerment. She has worked for YWCA, Caritas, World Vision, the Ministry of Home Affairs under a UNHCR funded project and the Zambia Association for Parents of Children with Disabilities. She has trained staff, been a peer educator, strengthened Gender Based Violence referral systems, worked in refugee resettlements,  economic empowerment programs, managed safe spaces and advocated for disability inclusion, Children’s Rights, Refugees etc.


Mawa is a Loop moderator, hosted by the Zambian Governance Foundation. She speaks Lozi, Bemba, Nyanja, Shona and English
